Guard your tequila…today is National Margarita and I’ve already shaken up a Sunday special for you to enjoy with brunch, dinner or just alone in celebration of National Margarita Day. Let’s briefly review what it is our pallets will be worshipping, I mean celebrating today.
The traditional margarita consist of Tequila (duh), triple sec (orange liqueur), lemon or lime with and optional salted rim. You can have a margarita on the rocks or frozen, in a margarita glass or whatever you have in your cabinet at home. Let’s get to it, my Raspberry Margarita, because it will be a fiesta in ya mouth!
2oz Tequila (Don Julio’s my preference today)
Raspberries (approx 5 )
Red Jacket Raspberry & Apple Juice
Agave (for lightweights)
Rinse raspberries and add to shaker with a drizzle of agave and muddle. Add ice, tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice and Red Jacket juice. Shake vigorously. Use the lime and swirl around the rim on the glass and tap glass rim on salted plate to cover entire rim (if you like a salted rim). Pour into glass and enjoy!
Cheers to National Margarita Day and the best parents on earth as they celebrate their 40th Anniversary!
Remember to clink and drink responsibly!
