Since my college days I’ve had a secret love of Bartending. It started in “The Harbors” at my good friend Sam’s apartment which on Friday and Saturday we called what? Yup, you guessed it CHEERS! It was one of the happiest places on earth to us. It wasn’t about the drinks as much as it was about the friendship that were cultivated, countless conversations and a lifetime of memories, but of course the libations made it all more interesting. In the years since I would always admire a well-made cocktails in DC at The Gibson on 14th street, Apple Martini’s from Restaurant Eve, wine tastings at Cakebread and Jessup Wineries in Napa Valley Seco and Milk in Panama and list goes on of places I’ve visited and watched intently as I sat in lounges and at bar counters around the world. Well, this past Friday, 18 July my bartending aspirations became a reality. I took a one week course at ABC Bartending School (big thanks to Malon and Gino) and the creative cocktail juices began flowing not only into glasses ,but into some amazing ideas starting with this blog.
